The Speex-encoded files sound better, but you may not have support for it in your software. If not, and you want to try it anyway, you will have to contact the author(s) of your media player and ask for Speex support, or download a different player from the Speex download site. Programs ready-to-run are available for Windows and Linux. Apparently, users of Windows Media Player can download an add-on for that program that will enable Speex support.
