Bible Classes

Sundays

Every Sunday, an adult Bible class meets during Sunday School, beginning at 9:30, at church. This continues from September through May.

Getting Into God's Word

This weekly class will begin on September 12, with the same session meeting several times each week. This Fall, the Sunday afternoon session will meet at Bethany, at 2:30 PM. The session will repeat on Tuesday mornings, at 10:00 AM, and then again in Klickitat at 5:00 PM on Wednesday. (The Klickitat session will usually meet at Grace Lutheran Church, though it is conducted by Bethany and Concordia.)

Those who cannot attend on a weekly basis, or who can't make it to The Dalles or Klickitat for a weekly class should attend at Concordia on Thursday evenings, beginning at 5:00 PM. This class will meet bi-weekly, so the units will take longer to complete.

Some class materials are available through our Moodle site, where you'll have to create a login to get them.

If classes must be canceled or rescheduled, the changes will be posted on our Calendar and noted on our Moodle site.

Getting Into God's Word will span several units of lessons, designed to help you get the most out of your Bible. It's appropriate for ages ten and up, for both members and non-members. If you need babysitting in order to attend, please Contact us, and we will help arrange something, possibly even with your child(ren) on-sight at the church.

Midweek

According to the schedule on our calendar, another class meets Tuesdays at 7:00 PM, at church. This class also continues from September through May or early June.

We also have a Sunday class after church. At 1:45 we meet for "Confessing Jesus," which is a study of the Lutheran Confessions, also known as the Book of Concord. At the moment, we are in the Augsburg Confession. This class is probably of greatest interest to catechized Lutherans, though everyone is welcome, as always.

Friday mornings there is an Advanced Bible History class at 9:30, especially geared toward confirmed youth. After that is a class we call Gottesdienst, which means "Divine Service." That one progresses through the Catechism and the liturgy of the Divine Service.

Monthly

On the first Saturday each month, a men's Bible class meets after breakfast. This continues year-round. We are currently studying the letter to the Hebrews.

On the second Thursday of each month, the Mary Martha circle meets in the evening. There is a short Bible study included as part of that meeting, too.
